I've started my gratitude Journaling and along with it I also write 3 good things about myself or things I've managed to improve. I feel we lose track of how we've come a long way and how we are worthy too and this helps me remember.
I’m going to copy your thoughts on working out… started lifting weights at 48 and now at 58 I’m not only stronger, healthier but more disciplined in most aspects of my life. And no matter my mood… sad happy angry .. a good work out neutralizes it… it’s my therapy!
Wow, reminds me of the adage, it's never too late to start anything. Absolutely, a good workout followed by a cold shower can destroy anything negative. Thanks for sharing this inspiring thing Cheryl! I hope I continue working out even when I am in my 50s
The habit of Journalling has impacted my life the most. I have been able to feel better in difficult times and it has been kinda therapeutic to me. When I feel the need to check if I'm on track, I just pen it down. It is a great way of self-reflection. I have learned to be appreciative of my own journey and it's pace too. It has helped me see myself evolve and grow. No matter how absurd some things written in the past feel, I acknowledge that it was a phase and I wrote what I felt. Most importantly, it has added to my self-esteem, as I started making decisions and learning through experiments. It taught me to be the judge of ownself rather than always looking for some mentor's opinion on every little thing. This journal is a place which taught me to love myself, to be kind to myself in a world where being a busy bandwagon and perfection is given so much importance.
You sold journalling to me! I have been considering it for quite some time but this has convinced me to start. Writing on Medium and here are therapeutic and I do engage in self-reflection but it's sort of an unconscious process now (given that I have been doing it for so long)
But journaling makes sense since you'd be documenting everything, that must glean quite a lot of insights every time you look back.
Thanks for taking the time out to read and respond with such a detailed comment. Appreciate it!
I'm not much of a habits man, to be honest! My days are as varied as the stars in the sky. The thing that has made my life most interesting, however, is curiousity.
Haha as a fellow curious person, I can relate. Anything that stokes my curiosity gives me unparalleled joy. On a whim, I'll be delving deep into Astrophysics or Evolutionary psychology, or I'll be excitedly discussing personal ethics with a friend. Curiosity is the biggest driver for learning and consequently knowledge. Thanks for dropping by mate!

Absolutely, the documenting part is the biggest benefit

I'm putting it off but I WILL start this Monday. Excited thanks to both of you
